Real Madrid are making concrete steps to secure a deal for Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, according to Bild journalist Christian Falk.
The 25-year-old is under contract at Anfield until 2025, and with no decision yet made on an extension the England international could depart the Reds this summer.
Real Madrid have previously been linked with Alexander-Arnold, and with just one year remaining on his contract Madrid could use this to their advantage, with Liverpool reluctant to lose him as a free agent next summer.
The chances of a departure could also increase following the end of Jurgen Klopp’s reign as manager. The German has been replaced by Arne Slot and it is unclear whether the new boss will have any impact on Alexander-Arnold’s chances of staying at the club.
Alexander-Arnold has spent his entire career at Liverpool, winning the Premier League, Carabao Cup, FA Cup and Champions League and may be interested in a new challenge. The report reveals that he finds a move to the Spanish giants appealing and has been in contact with the club over the last month.
