Carlo Ancelotti hints at retirement

Ancelotti will retire after leaving Real

Ancelotti has two years left on his contract with Real Madrid. The 65-year-old coach will probably retire in the summer of 2026 or earlier as he revealed that Los Blancos is the last team in his glorious coaching career.

Usually, senior coaches will choose to lead a national team in the final years of their careers, but Ancelotti is one of the exceptions. The Italian strategist said he would not become an international coach because he loves the day-to-day work at the club.

When asked about his future plans, Ancelotti said: “Real Madrid is probably my last club. I don’t know when I will stop. When Real gets bored of me, I will think about what to do next, but it will not be a national team coach because I love the daily work at the club.”

Ancelotti has coached many teams, but Real Madrid and AC Milan are the clubs he has been with the longest. Up to now, Ancelotti has spent 29 years in coaching. Although he has not led the national team, he is considered one of the most successful and greatest coaches in football history.

Ancelotti has won a total of 28 different titles. He is the first coach to win all five major European leagues, and is also the most successful coach in the Champions League with five titles. Carletto will have the opportunity to increase his greatness with two years left on his contract with the Spanish Royal team.

Commenting on the recent EURO 2024, Ancelotti said that Spain deserved to win the championship. He said: “Spain deserved to win because they have a lot of talent and beautiful attacking play. But it was a low-intensity European Championship because most of the big stars were tired.”
