Man Utd confirmed that midfielder Casemiro will have to miss a few weeks due to injury suffered in the loss to Newcastle.
Casemiro will be out for several weeks due to injury
Yesterday morning (November 2), MU lost to Newcastle with a score of 0-3 in the 1/8 round of the English League Cup. Not only did they suffer the sadness of defeat, the Red Devils were also worried about their force situation when Casemiro suffered a hamstring injury and was replaced in the first half.
In the post-match press conference, coach Erik Ten Hag said that the Brazilian midfielder will be absent from the away trip to Fulham’s stadium tomorrow (November 4). “Just before halftime, Casemiro got injured. That’s why we had to replace him. I don’t know the extent of the injury yet, but he will definitely sit out the match this weekend.”
After checking the injury situation, a few hours ago, the MU homepage announced that Casemiro would have to rest for a few weeks.
This is “lightning” information for Erik Ten Hag, who is under extreme pressure after a poor start to this season, with 8 defeats out of 15 matches in all competitions.
Besides Casemiro, MU is also missing Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Tyrell Malacia due to injury.
Casemiro landed at Old Trafford from Real Madrid last summer, for about 70 million pounds. The Brazilian captain showed impressive performance in his first season, playing an important role in helping MU reach the top 4 of the Premier League and win the English League Cup. However, in season 2, he plummeted, and the team suffered disappointing results.
After the match with Fulham, MU will go to Copenhagen to participate in an important match in the Champions League, before returning home to welcome Luton in round 12 of the Premier League.
