Raphael Varane suffered a groin injury in the 2020-21 Nations League final.
Varane sat down on the field because he was in pain
Raphael Varane started in the match France beat Spain 2-1 on 11/10. However, the Man Utd midfielder had to leave the field at the end of the first half because of an injury despite not being in contact with anyone.
Immediately after winning the Nations League with France, Raphael Varane and Pogba returned to Manchester yesterday. At Man Utd, Varane was immediately examined by the team’s experts to determine the severity of the injury he had just encountered.
According to Man Utd confirmation, Raphael Varane has a groin injury. In its announcement, the Red Devils did not specify when the former Real Madrid star returned.
“Raphael Varane suffered a groin injury in the Nations League final and has begun his rehabilitation at the club. He will have to take a few weeks off,” quoted Man Utd’s announcement
Raphael Varane joined Man Utd in the summer transfer window of 2021 from Real Madrid. Since arriving at Old Trafford, the French international has occupied the main starting position in the center of defense with Harry Maguire.
Before Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire suffered a calf injury in the defeat to Aston Villa on September 25. Yesterday, the English midfielder returned to light training but could not participate in training with the whole team. It is likely that Harry Maguire will not be able to recover in time for the match against Leicester City in the 8th round of the Premier League.
Almost certainly both Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane are absent. Therefore, it is possible that coach Solskjaer will arrange a pair of central defenders Lindelof – Bailly, or Lindelof – Phil Jones, to play in the trip to King Power Stadium on October 16.
